This morning visit the resplendent Golden Temple the holiest shrine of the Sikh religion and admire its serenity and awe-inspiring beauty. Inside see the Hari Mandir the two storey marble temple standing in the middle of the

sacred pool with its inlays of flower and animal motifs in the style of the Taj Mahal. The original copy of the Holy Book, theGranth Sahib is kept in the temple during the day as four priests keep up a continuous reading from the holy texts. There is also a museum which houses a gallery of paintings relating the story of Sikhism and its martyrs.
Next visit the Jalianwala Bagh ,a site which commemorates the death of over 2000 Indians in one of the bloodiest atrocities committed during the British Raj .It subsequently became the fountainhead of India's independence movement and has been depicted in the film Gandhi.
